The class will use a combination of a blog site and Facebook to explore the fundamentals of composition while providing image feedback. People will post, comment and respond on their schedule as time allows.

Schedule:
Week 1 - The Fundamentals of Formal Composition
Week 2 - Techniques to Capture the Viewer's Attention.
Week 3 - Crafting to Create Interest.
Week 4 - How to Keep the Viewer "In" the Image

I'll provide training material and examples at the beginning of each week. We will post images and comment on peer images while referencing the weeks training material. There will be general postings on Facebook throughout the week, and then one formal image per week posted to the blog site for formal review.

The process, over four weeks, will give you an approach to composition and the tools to become your own authority.

We will use a photo appreciation approach to evaluating images. No scores, no judging, just honest comments amongst ourselves. This enables the maker to get multiple views on a work rather than just one solitary opinion. While criticisms will be mentioned, the focus is on the strengths and positives of the image. The more we identify strengths within our works, the more we start looking for and finding them during capture.

It should also be mentioned that creator intent and comments are welcome. The more we know what you were trying to achieve, the more we can speak to it.

A Facebook page will be used for discussions and questions throughout the week and informal images can be posted for comments.  A blogsite will be used for training material and to post one selection from each client per week. This will be a more formal review of the image, and each client will be asked to comment on at least two images from their peers.

IMPORTANT: Due to the nature of the internet, I do not make any claims about the security of uploaded images. So, please post with security measures you deem important, and be aware that images can be lifted. Let me know if you have an image that you want feedback on but you don't want exposed. We will work something out so you can get comments from me. 

IMPORTANT: As I have all ages of clients, no inappropriate material will be accepted. If you are not sure what inappropriate material is, then this is not the class for you. Anyone posting inappropriate material, or destructive comments, will be removed from the group.

Future iterations of the class will have us physically meeting each other at the beginning of the class, but that's just not practical for the right now.
