"Dwell in Starlight" - a Midnight Roadtrip

I took a midnight road trip to photograph this old farmstead. The trip started near Douglas, in Eastern Washington, and meandered up to Grand Coulee City.

"Dwell in Starlight" f4 @ 30sec, ISO 3200 A panorama of seven images

The idea of home as the center of our universe is from Yi-Fu Tuan. It's our focal point - "the place" we use to orient ourselves relative to the rest of the world. It is the center of family relationships, experiences, and memories. Abandoned places maintain that sense of home, but the bonds have been lost, and a sense of the forlorn takes hold.

This image is a reflection of home against the vastness of time and space. I like to think that seeing things lost in place and time adds something to our everyday lives.

This is a rather large file and a 16-20 ft display is easily achievable.
