These scenes are within a few minutes walk of each other. I routinely started at the Washington Water Power building and photographed my way to the carousel and pavilion.

Riverfront park is the culmination of downtown Spokane, the remnants of the 1974 World's Fair, and a few modernized nineteenth-century industrial buildings that line the shores of the Spokane River.

Only the clock tower remains of the Great Northern Railway Depot, and it was a clear point of reference for Expo 1974. The pavilion, the carousel, Canada Island, and part of the convention center were all part of the fair and they are still in use today.

Riverfront is heading into new waters as construction starts to update the park. The plans do look amazing. Many of my friends have been photographing Spokane for years, and we've documented the changes to the city skyline. It will be interesting to see how the park changes.
